NOEL M CARTER - Director (2020-) Branch Chief (2012-present)

The senior school instructor at the Shuri Karate Dojo, Director and Branch Chief of the NMAA, Noel Carter from Chicago, Illinois, has been studying, training and practicing the Martial Arts for over 30 years. Currently ranked Godan (5th Dan) Black Belt and Shihan, in traditional Karate.

Carter-sensei firsted started practicing boxing over 30 years ago, then commencing her journey in the Martial arts with American freestyle kickboxing, which she practiced for over 5 years, then finally moving to traditional Karate in 1999.

Carter-sensei has been teaching the Martial Arts since 2002 and has taught at many clinics and seminars throughout the USA and UK, and she has competed in many karate tournaments in kata and kumite, winning and placing highly in many of these events.

The Shuri Karate Dojo is one the most authentic karate schools in the Chicagoland area, based at Palos Hills, and is the current Honbu Dojo for the NMAA. The dojo was originally established in 1986 in the UK. Carter-sensei is a senior instructor at the dojo where she teaches children, adults and female only self-defense classes.

Today Carter-sensei enjoys sharing her experience in the martial arts gained in over 30 years of training, in passing on this knowledge to her students. Carter-sensei is a very dedicated martial artist, always placing others before herself. She continues to be an active student and completes her own personal training on a daily basis.
